If you want to create a new and bespoke kitchen that you will love living in for years to come it helps us to get an idea of what you like and want, along with any scrap book cuttings and samples you might have it will help us to look at the prompts below and answer questions relating to the overall specification. You do not need to answer all the sections, but they will act as a prompt to help cover all the potential aspects of your project.

Ideally when would you like to cook your first meal in your new kitchen?

Styling Specifications
Type of cabinet finish - oak, maple, walnut, painted etc.?

Counter top finish - granite, timber, laminate etc.?

Floor finish - stone, tile, underfloor heating etc.?

Cooking Requirements
Aga - 2, 3 or 4 oven, module, companion - oil, gas or electric? - (think about colour!)
Range cooker - how many ovens, how many hobs, dual fuel, gas, electric?

Integrated ovens - how many, eye level, extra functions, capacity etc.?

Separate hob - gas, ceramic, induction, how many?

Extraction - integrated, or visible, design style, vented to outside or recirculation?

Microwave oven or combination oven microwave, freestanding, (in utility) or fitted?

Other specialist cooking needs, steam oven, tepenyaki plate, rotisserie, indoor bbq etc.?

Refrigeration Specifications
Type of refrigerator - American style with ice and water, integrated, fridge freezer, under counter, stainless steel freestanding, fridge drawers?

Type of freezer - integrated, freestanding, integrated, part of the fridge, not needed in kitchen, chest freezer elsewhere etc.?

Additional cooling requirements - glass fronted wine fridge, integrated wine fridge,
plumbed-in ice maker, secondary fridge?

The Wet Area
What type of sinks do you want - ceramic Belfast, ceramic integrated, stainless steel?
How many sinks do you want, 1, 1.5, twin sinks, separate preparation sink?

What do you want from a dishwasher - integrated or freestanding, standard or glass care system, cutlery basket or cutlery cleaning tray?

Your bins and recycling area
How do you dispose of your waste? Separate bins for glass, paper and plastics, compost bin, additional bins in utility room?

Do you require a waste disposal unit, (not recommended if you have your own septic tank, unless it is a clargester), fitted with an air switch, child proof etc.?

Types of tap
mixer taps, tri-flow taps with water filter, separate spray rinse?

Water softener - to run through all appliances in the house, (located near mains)

Additional Appliances and Furniture
Coffee maker, warming drawer etc?

Entertainment in you kitchen - Television, LCD or Plasma, stand alone radio, multi room system, ice box, internet connection?

Multiple pan drawers, a dresser, glazed cabinets on the walls, a large food larder?

Zoned Areas
Do you want a dining space in the kitchen, if so how many seated?

Do you want an island, with or without a breakfast bar, if so how many stools?

Do you want somewhere for admin, school letters, an office area etc.?

Do you want or have a walk in larder space, is it vented and shelves?

Do you have a separate utility room or boot room or laundry etc.?

Technical Specification
Can we survey the room you are having your kitchen in, or can we have a scaled set of architects plans, or an emailed AutoCAD file from architect etc.?
